Academy News 2014/2015
We would like to wish all of our staff, children and their families a very happy holiday. Please stay safe and remember to always tell a grown up where you are going. We are very sad to be saying goodbye to our current Year 6 children yet wish them all the luck in the world as they begin their new journey at secondary school. Sadly, we are also saying goodbye to Mrs Garnett who is leaving us to look after her young family. Miss Kipling (nursery) and Miss Gee have new jobs and Mrs MacDonald is also leaving Newbottle. Miss Moran and Miss Forster are new teachers starting in September. Miss Beatty has been married and is now Mrs Owen, Miss Morgan is to be married and will be Mrs White. We wish them all good luck for the future. Enjoy the holidays!

Fun at our NEW Forest School
Over the last few weeks, the whole school have spent an afternoon visiting our new forest school. They have taken part in shelter building, camouflage activities, fire making and even toasted their own marshmallows. I'm sure that all of the children will agree, they have had a fantastic time and also a very valuable learning experience that I'm sure they won't forget. I can't wait until we go back and visit again!
Halloween Disco 2014
We hope that everyone had lots of fun at this week's Halloween Disco. Thank you to all those who helped to organise the disco and make it a success. We would not be able to run events like this if it wasn't for your involvement so thanks again. Your continued support means a lot to the school.
ACE Program - Year 1
A number of our Year 1 parents have begun to take part in our Adult and Child Education (ACE) program through sunderland college. The focus of the program is to help the adults involved develop their literacy skills so that they are able to support their children as they move up through the school. As part of the program the adults work alongside their child during lessons. Take a look at what they got up to this week.
Poppy Appeal 2014
Over the last few weeks children all across our school have been taking part in a poppy project. They have made poppies from clay and planted them. As part of the project they are also fundraising at home to raise both awareness of and also money for the 2014 Poppy Appeal. I'm sure you will all do us proud with the money we can raise.
