Pupil Premium Grant

 

Pupil Premium is money allocated by the Government to support children who:

 

•  are or have been eligible for free school meals

•  are of have been looked after

•  are from families with a parent serving in the armed forces

 

At Newbottle Academy the Pupil Premium is a significant part of the overall school budget and is used in a variety of ways as described below. (A more detailed report can be found by following the link below).

 

 A detailed report on this  spending including a detailed analyses of its impact  can be found by following the link below,  but broadly this funding has been  used in the following way in order to improve achievements, provision and opportunities for the pupils;

 

•  Continued employment and deployment of Teaching Assistants to enable effective and targeted intervention support

•  To continue some of the successful intervention programmes started last year

•  To develop new intervention programmes across school

•  Enabling staff to access training and support

•  To purchase resources to enrich the learning environment for eligible pupils

•  To subsidise school trips and visitors into school to enrich pupils' learning by giving them first hand experiences

•  Subsidising music tuition for pupils in receipt of the premium

•  To support pupils and families in good attendance through designated admin time

•  Continued access to and use of bespoke tracking system in order to track PP pupils' progress and attainment
